We’re the dustbin of Europe. Not a tabloid exaggeration but fact. Figures compiled by the Local Government Association are pretty mind-blowing and justification for an onset of extreme seasonal affective disorder. We are sending out 22million tonnes of rubbish to landfill. That’s three times the amount German does and a staggering 110 times the rubbish that goes to landfill sites in Sweden. Some room for improvement then.
